Relaunched under the new name “Blue refabric” from the JAPAN BLUE JEANS exclusive line, this model is the first release of the 8oz semi-wide tapered 5-pocket jeans.
Compared to standard 12–14oz denim, it uses lightweight 8oz selvedge denim, offering cool comfort even in midsummer while still allowing you to enjoy the unique aging of denim.
The silhouette is semi-wide tapered, with room through the hips and thighs and a slightly stronger taper from the knee to the hem. It naturally covers the thigh area while creating a clean, elegant line. The cropped length adds lightness at the feet, enhancing a refined, effortless look.
Equally suited to sneakers and leather shoes, this is summer denim that combines comfort with a beautifully balanced silhouette.

Rooted in Japan’s high-quality textiles and a commitment to precise craftsmanship. Originally developed as a ROCOCO exclusive line for JAPAN BLUE JEANS, the brand is relaunched in 2026 under the name “Blue refabric.”
Production is centered around partner factories of JAPAN BLUE JEANS. “Blue refabric” is a coined term combining “Blue”—representing Japanese denim—and “Refabric,” a blend of “Republic” and “Fabric.” Inspired by the idea of a “Blue Republic,” the brand honors Japan’s rich textile culture while offering garments that quietly elevate the individuality of the wearer.
Crafted primarily from premium denim sourced in Okayama, each piece is carefully made in trusted factories across Japan. The designs strike a balance between minimalism and strength, bringing out the natural character and texture of the fabric. From Japan—a nation of textiles—to the world, Blue refabric presents a new standard shaped by respect for Japanese craftsmanship.
If you prefer more room through the calves, we recommend choosing one size up, as the silhouette tapers slim from the knee to the hem.
8oz Selvedge Denim—Lightweight with Character
The fabric uses 8oz selvedge denim woven on vintage shuttle looms. Though lightweight, it offers reliable durability while delivering a light and comfortable feel.
Its breathable construction makes it suitable even for warmer seasons. The deep indigo tone gradually develops rich fading and natural wear patterns over time, allowing you to enjoy the unique aging process of denim. The design follows the classic five-pocket construction that defines traditional denim. The front features a zip fly for smooth and practical daily use.
