NANGA
Founded in 1941 in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, NANGA is a down product manufacturer committed to domestic production in Japan. Using safe, high-quality down and its own advanced sewing techniques, the brand is widely recognized as one of Japan's leading names in winter down outerwear.









Ripstop That Enhances the Camo's Rugged Appeal
The outer shell is made from cotton-nylon ripstop fabric. Its distinctive grid pattern enhances the rugged character of the camouflage print.

The fabric is also treated with a water-repellent finish, adding practical functionality for everyday use while retaining its rugged military character.



Less Bulk, Just 80g of Down
The jacket is filled with 80g of 650-fill-power down to keep bulk to a minimum. By reducing the puffiness typically associated with down jackets, the design preserves the classic look of a military jacket while remaining lightweight and easy to throw on.

The lining features a rugged, utilitarian finish, preserving the military character even in the less visible details.




About a Year and a Half in the Making
This project grew out of a relationship with NATIVE JAPANESE that began in 2024.

The concept started with a simple idea: to create a down jacket based on a U.S. military Chemical Protective Jacket owned by NATIVE JAPANESE, using NANGA down. From there, the fabric, amount of down, silhouette, and every detail were carefully refined.

After multiple rounds of sampling and refinement, this special piece was completed over approximately a year and a half.



A Deep Hood Reminiscent of a Balaclava
The generously sized hood provides ample coverage around the face. When fully zipped up, it wraps around the neck like a balaclava, creating a distinctive military-inspired look.

A drawcord lets you adjust the fit.



The front features a two-way zipper, allowing you to open it from either end. A hook-and-loop closure on the placket secures it over the closed zipper.

This practical design helps keep out the cold while allowing you to adjust how much of the front is open to suit your style.



Angled hand-warmer pockets at the front offer easy access. The pockets are lined with tricot fabric for a soft, comfortable feel.

A flap pocket on the left shoulder adds a military-inspired touch.



Hook-and-loop adjusters at the cuffs let you adjust the fit around your wrists while helping keep cold air out.



The hem features a drawcord and cord locks. Tightening the drawcord helps keep cold air out while creating a more rounded silhouette.





The jacket has a roomy fit through the body and a shorter length. It allows for easy layering over sweatshirts and knitwear, while the shorter cut keeps the overall silhouette from looking too bulky.

Despite the bold camouflage pattern, the shorter, well-balanced silhouette pairs easily with denim, cargo pants, and wide-leg trousers, making it a versatile choice for winter outfits.
