Founded in Leicester, England in 1936, Gymphlex began by producing athletic shorts for the national army. By the mid-1900s, its products were sold as school gym uniforms and spread throughout the UK. The brand became highly popular in Britain, even being adopted as uniforms for the British national rugby team, the polo club to which Prince Charles belonged, and prestigious British prep schools such as Eton and Harrow.
