Established in 1927, TOWNCRAFT is one of JC PENNEY's signature store brands, alongside BIG MAC and PAY-DAY. Drawing inspiration from vintage clothing of the 1950s through the 1970s, the brand creates garments with an emphasis on everyday comfort and ease of wear.

The shell is made from 5.3 oz TC weather cloth, a blend of polyester and cotton. It combines the soft feel of cotton with a balanced structure and subtle sheen. Refined yet casual, it slips naturally into a considered everyday wardrobe.

Introduced in the 1960s, the Derby jacket became a favorite among skaters, punks, and rock 'n' rollers in the 1980s, particularly within the American West Coast hardcore scene, where it earned its reputation as an icon of cool.

While the name may suggest an equestrian jacket, it actually comes from Derby of San Francisco, the company that originally produced the style.





Classic Details, Everyday Function
A ribbed collar sits gently around the neck, lending a clean finish that complements the jacket's classic character.



The curved panel seams extending from the shoulders toward the underarms are a defining feature of the Derby jacket. This distinctive vintage detail brings character to an otherwise simple silhouette.



The front features a zipper from IDEAL, a long-established American zipper manufacturer. A concealed placket covers the zipper for a clean, understated finish.
