Inspired by LEVI’S 1950s “501XX,” this pair preserves the rugged spirit of classic denim while recreating the texture and feel of deadstock jeans.
The fabric is crafted from selvedge denim also used in EDWIN’s premium line. Its defining characteristic is the unique aging created by the right-hand twill construction. Over time, the fabric develops natural variations in creasing and fading, resulting in a one-of-a-kind character that feels personal rather than mass-produced.
Worn low on the waist, the deep rise creates a relaxed silhouette. Worn true to size, it shifts into a clean tapered line. Combined with the fabric’s natural twist, the jeans gain subtle movement and dimensional depth.
Blending the timeless appeal of vintage denim with modern wearability, this is a pair that looks effortlessly complete the moment you put it on.

A new collection from EDWIN, one of Japan’s most respected denim brands with a heritage of craftsmanship dating back to 1961. The name “SKEWED” refers to the natural twisting characteristic found in denim fabric, reflecting the collection’s concept of blending denim history with innovation to create entirely new products.
Designed to recreate the feel of aged denim
The fabric is based on the same selvedge denim used in EDWIN’s premium “505” line. Balanced in weight—not too heavy, not too light—it is easy to wear throughout every season.
The warp yarns are first dyed with brown sulfur dye before being overdyed with indigo, recreating the nuanced appearance of long-stored deadstock denim.
The weft yarns are also dyed in a similar brown tone, allowing subtle brown undertones to gradually emerge through wear over time. This creates a rich, dimensional contrast that differs from ordinary denim fading.
The surface is additionally treated with singeing, giving the denim a refined sheen along with a smoother and more comfortable feel against the skin.
Inspired by the 1950s “501XX”
The front features a classic button-fly construction inspired by the heritage of the 501XX. With continued wear, the areas around the buttons naturally develop fades and character, gradually creating a more dimensional appearance.
The small front pocket is a traditional “coin pocket” detail derived from vintage LEVI’S designs. Rivets reinforce key stress points while adding the substantial vintage character associated with classic denim.
An adjuster is also included, allowing the fit to be customized even without a belt. By changing the waist position, the silhouette shifts naturally, expanding the range of styling possibilities.
Natural dimension created through twisting
Worn slightly lower to take advantage of the deeper rise, the silhouette becomes more relaxed with an emphasized wide-leg feel. Worn at the natural waist, it transforms into a cleaner tapered shape with reduced volume. The added twisting element introduces subtle movement to the silhouette, creating a naturally dimensional presence simply through wear.
